The AIESEC Careers Day is one of the largest career fairs on campus in terms of corporate participation and student turn-out. You can expect approximately 55 corporations coming out this year looking to recruit co-op program participants, summer interns, and graduating students. This is a unique opportunity for students to practice their networking skills and establish contacts in the business community. These contacts are invaluable upon graduation and help immensely when looking for a job once you graduate.
What students do not realize is that most major companies recruit for summer internships and post-graduate positions IN THE FALL! By the time it is February, it is already too late. Companies have already recruited, and you will be stuck without a job. Networking is essential to remain competitive in your field. Get a head start and establish those contacts to gain an advantage over your peers.
This year's annual career fair will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the University of Manitoba. We have chosen to locate the careers day in two different locations this year: The Drake Centre and Multi-Purpose Room on the 2nd floor of University Centre.Visit both locations to meet all of our corporate representatives and to make the most out of the career fair experience!
Nervous about networking? The Asper School of Business Career Services Centre has you covered. They will be hosting two Career Fair Tactics Workshops. Join us to refine your networking skills so that you can make the most out of the AIESEC Careers Day!
